I have been a member of 24 Hour Fitness for over 2 years now. When I started with them I signed up with a personal trainer who helped me lose almost 20 pounds (believe it or not I had a bit more meat on me back in the day, lol). Not ever wanting to go back to that size, I made a lifestyle change to stick with the gym and stay fit!
With summer upon us, I wanted to get back into tip top shape and get my bikini body back! 24 Hour Fitness is helping me do just that and I will keep posting reports on my progress as well as tips for you so you can jump start your workout with 24 Hour Fitness!

Had my first training session with my personal trainer Shannon at the 24 Hour Fitness Agassi Super Sport in Summerlin (this was the nicest gym I've ever seen and it has a pool too, score!)
It was a 50 minute session that started off with all my required paperwork and measurements. Ugh, I was dreading those. Turns out I've got 25% body fat which is considered "acceptable" but after discussing my fitness goals, Shannon suggested we get down to at least 21% which is considered "fit".
She then took me upstairs to check my strength and cardio level. It didn't seem like I did much but when we were done I was exhausted and could feel my muscles shaking!! I also got my BodyBugg which is an armband calorie counter. It syncs up to my computer to track how many calories I've burned throughout the day and compared it to the calories consumed...pretty cool!
I have to do 30 min. of cardio tomorrow (Wed) and another training session on Thurs! To be continued....

Had another training session today with Shannon! As soon as I got to the gym I was straight up called out on my poor meal choices. Apparently coffee cake is not a healthy breakfast...who knew ;)
Shannon once again kicked my butt in the gym and although it was a tough workout and my muscles were immediatly in pain, it felt good to be pushed harder than I would normally push myself. I was sweating and panting (and there was some bitching and moaning involved) but when I left the gym, I felt amazingly accomplished.
Shannon also insisted that I burn 500 calories more than I consume...the 24 Hour Fitness Bodybugg helps me to easily keep track of that, but in the past few days I've noticed I haven't been doing that. Definitely have to eat better in order to see results! Time to cut the carbs =/

I decided today that instead of going to the gym, I wanted to get my workout done outside so I went hiking at Red Rock! I figured hiking would burn just as many calories as I burn at the gym...I was wrong. It burned wayyyy more!! Thanks to my 24 Hour Fitness BodyBugg I was able to keep track of exactly what I burned and couldn't be happier that an hour and 1/2 of hiking burned so much!

Oh. my. god. I had my third session yesterday with my personal trainer Shannon. When I say she shows no mercy, I'm not kidding. We started off with 5 min. on the treadmill doing 30 second interval runs, where I would run super fast for 20 seconds then take a 10 second break...doesn't sound that intense, but try it!
Then she had me do a circuit workout with 10 reps of different expercises and I couldn't stop until all the sets were done...at that point I was able to take a break only to have to do it all 2 more times! The fun didn't stop there though...she had me work on my core muscles...and I barely made it through those! I could not believe how exhausted I was when I was done...needless to say I slept like a baby last night! Next session is Thursday...hope the soreness goes away by then LOL!

Let me just say, I'm starting to develop a love/hate relationship with my trainer Shannon, lol. Don't get me wrong, she is great but in the middle of these workouts when I feel like I'm about to die...it's very difficult to be happy with her! Haha I'm kidding (kinda), I know she is doing her job and she is great at pushing me and keeping me going when every ounce of my body wants to stop.
My butt cheeks hurt today, haha. These past few workouts have been super hard but afterwards knowing how much I accomplished, I feel great! I've also been watching what I eat. I had a turkey burger for dinner last night without the bun!! Being a carb lover that is a HUGE step for me!!
Have you started working out yet?! If so, let me know the pains you are going through...email me!

Went on vacation and had a great time, but also gained a pound and 1/2! It was worth it but now time to lose that pound and 1/2 and then some! It's been hard to get into a routine since I got back with trying to catch up on work, but hopefully this week I can hit my goal.
This past Sunday I went on the Foster's Xtremely Enormous Adventure to Zion so I got in some activity there! I wore my BodyBugg to calculate how many calories I burned and at the end of the day was up over 2,300! Staying in shape doesn't mean you ALWAYS have to be in the gym!
